Priority Charter Schools Community,
Good afternoon! There has been a lot of talk on media outlets and in living rooms across the country about the recent Executive Orders on immigration and how the Executive Orders will impact schools and communities. In the past week, I have worked with the Texas Public Charter Schools Association and our attorney for clarification and guidance on this impact. In all honesty, I have only received a handful of questions and how it will affect our schools and families. However, as Superintendent, I want to get ahead of the questions and provide you with clarification to relieve any confusion and anxiety that may arise due to the announcement of the Executive Orders on Immigration.
Below is a link to a letter that provides clarification about the Executive Orders and our response as Priority Charter Schools which is all based on current law and statutes. In addition, we are reviewing our policies and will make revisions and recommendations to the Priority Charter Schools Board of Directors at the February 2025 Board of Directors meeting.
