________________________________

At Priority Charter Schools, we believe in providing our students with the best education possible. That is why we offer rigorous instruction that challenges and engages our students, helping them to develop a deep understanding of core academic content and the skills they need to succeed in life. We also believe in personalized learning, recognizing that each student has unique talents, gifts and needs. Our teachers work closely with students to identify their strengths and areas for growth, tailoring instruction to meet their individual needs.

Priority Charter Schools also understands the value of a small-school environment. We believe that a small school provides a more intimate and supportive learning environment, where students receive focused attention and develop personal relationships with their teachers and peers. Our schools are designed to foster a sense of community and belonging, where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to take risks and pursue their passions.

Whether you are a student, a parent, or a member of the community, Priority Charter Schools is committed to providing you with an exceptional education experience. Our hope is to create a public charter school that offers a healthy environment in which students can learn, grow and thrive. We know that families have a choice in education as students prepare for their futures. We would love the opportunity for your learner to become our priority.

History

Priority Charter Schools (PCS) was first approved by the Texas State Board of Education in 1999 and operates under contract with the Texas Commissioner of Education. PCS began serving families in grades Pre-Kindergarten – 9 in the Temple/Belton area under that name TOVAS Charter Academy. After much demand from parents, the grade levels were expanded to include Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 in August 2002. In 2012, the name changed to Priority Charter Schools in order to communicate a renewed philosophy of expansion into other communities. PCS now serves an average of 600 students and families in Temple, Killeen and Copperas Cove. Each campus exhibits unique characteristics that resemble their surrounding communities.

Your Choice. Your Future. Our Priority!

At Priority Charter Schools, we are proud to offer a comprehensive education that is both free and open to all students. Our open enrollment policy allows us to serve a diverse range of students, from those who are gifted and talented to those who may need additional support. We believe that every student should have access to a high-quality education.

Our approach to learning is centered around blended learning, which combines traditional classroom instruction with technology-based learning tools to create a personalized educational experience for each student.  Our teachers are trained to use technology-based learning tools to enhance traditional classroom instruction, creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment that encourages student success.

Priority Charter Schools is dedicated to upholding a set of core beliefs that shape the educational philosophy and approach. At the heart of this philosophy is the belief that each child has value, is unique, and must be treated accordingly. This foundational belief informs every aspect of our work, from the curriculum to the relationships with students, teachers, parents, and the wider community.

Priority Charter Schools puts this belief into practice by partnering closely with parents and the community. We understand that education is not something that happens in isolation, but rather within the larger context of a community. By working closely with parents and community organizations, we are able to create a supportive learning environment that nourishes the whole child, not just their academic development.

We strive to genuinely appreciate the unique qualities of each child. We believe that every child has something special to offer, and we strive to create an environment that allows each child to flourish and reach their full potential. Whether it's through small class sizes, personalized attention from teachers, or a curriculum that is tailored to the needs of each student, PCS is committed to providing an educational experience that helps every student know they are special and can succeed in life.
